Background and Challenge

Sujosu Technology partnered with a Fortune 500 utility company in North America to modernize and transition its Supplier Diversity Portal during a critical vendor change. The responsibility for delivering essential supplier data shifted to a new vendor, requiring the utility to quickly adapt its systems to accommodate new data structures and transfer mechanisms.

The challenge was twofold:

  1. Business Continuity – Ensuring the portal continued to operate without disruption to existing workflows.

  2. Data Security and Privacy – Protecting sensitive supplier and contractor information during integration and transfer.

This scenario demanded a rapid, secure, and precise transformation effort.

Sujosu’s Engagement

To address the transition, Sujosu Technology deployed a cross-functional team consisting of:

  • Project Management (PMO): Driving overall governance, milestones, and stakeholder communication.

  • Enterprise Architects: Designing integration strategies with minimal architectural impact.

  • Business Analysts: Documenting requirements, validating vendor specifications, and ensuring alignment.

  • Developers & Database Engineers: Executing targeted updates to the portal and underlying data layers.

  • QA Testers: Conducting rigorous validation across upstream and downstream systems.

To safeguard the sensitive data, Sujosu’s team operated entirely through Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), ensuring that all data remained within the client’s secured environment, thereby maintaining a high level of data privacy and operational integrity.

Key Activities

  • Data Alignment: Defined and validated the new data structure and formatting rules for seamless integration.

  • Secure Transfer Protocols: Established and validated encrypted file transfer mechanisms (sFTP channels) to ensure secure and reliable data delivery.

  • Policy and Compliance Assurance: Ensured adherence to the client’s internal security standards and applicable external regulations.

Minimal Disruption, Maximum Efficiency

A critical project goal was to avoid large-scale refactoring of the existing portal architecture. Sujosu achieved this by:

  • Implementing only the essential modifications in the application code and databases.

  • Designing enhancements that integrated smoothly with existing systems and workflows.

Meanwhile, the QA team conducted comprehensive end-to-end testing, including:

  • Verifying the accuracy of data ingestion and downstream distribution.

  • Testing interdependencies across connected systems to ensure no unintended side effects.

  • Stress and volume testing to validate performance under production-scale loads.

This approach ensured operational continuity with zero business disruption during and after the transition.

Successful Outcome

The project was delivered within planned timelines and met all defined objectives:

  • The new vendor integration was completed successfully.

  • Secure, encrypted data transfer protocols were established and validated.

  • All dependent applications and downstream systems continued operating without impact.

The utility company was able to maintain its Supplier Diversity programs without interruption while ensuring sensitive data remained fully protected.

Conclusion

This project underscores Sujosu Technology’s expertise in:

  • Managing complex vendor transitions

  • Delivering secure, high-compliance data integrations

  • Maintaining business continuity under changing regulatory and vendor landscapes

Sujosu’s ability to align quickly with new stakeholders, adapt to technical and compliance requirements, and deliver within tight timelines reflects a strong track record of client-focused modernization.
